Tabbager Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 5, 2026 This policy applies to Tabbager, a Chrome extension published by Lunover. It covers the extension, not the Lunover website. The website privacy policy covers visits to this site.

What the extension accesses

When you ask Tabbager to organize tabs, it reads tab titles, URLs, and existing tab group names in the current browser window. It uses this information to decide which eligible tabs belong together and to create or update Chrome tab groups. It does not read page contents, form entries, or passwords. Tab titles and URLs can still reveal sensitive information, including account names or search terms. Tabbager also uses Chrome storage for setup and model status, grouping progress, and the information needed to undo the last grouping. The extension does not use this information for advertising or sell it.

Version 1.0.0: local AI

The version currently listed in the Chrome Web Store is 1.0.0. Its AI model runs in your browser. Tab information used for grouping stays on your device and is not sent to Lunover or an AI inference service. During setup, the extension downloads model files from Hugging Face and keeps them in the browser cache. That download contacts Hugging Face, which may receive ordinary network information such as your IP address. See Hugging Face's privacy policy.

Version 1.0.1: OpenAI API

The extension source also contains a 1.0.1 version that uses an OpenAI API key supplied by the user. If this version is installed, the key is saved in Chrome's local extension storage and sent directly from your browser to OpenAI to validate the key and request grouping. Lunover does not receive the key. When you run grouping in 1.0.1, the extension sends OpenAI a prompt derived from eligible tab titles, site hostnames, words from URL paths, existing group names, and any extra instructions you entered in settings. It does not send full URLs, URL query strings, or page contents in that request. These summaries can still contain personal or sensitive information. OpenAI processes the request under the terms of the API account associated with your key. See OpenAI's API data controls.

Your choices and retention

Tab grouping runs when you activate the extension. You can avoid processing sensitive tabs by closing them before grouping. You can remove locally saved extension data through Chrome's extension controls or by uninstalling Tabbager. Information already sent to OpenAI by version 1.0.1 is subject to your OpenAI API account's data controls and retention settings.
