How We Built a Global Web Development Company from Nepal — and Why It Works

I didn’t start Lunover with a pitch deck or funding.
I started with code. In a rented room. In Kathmandu.
This isn’t some polished Silicon Valley story — it’s the real version of how we built a global web development company from Nepal, and why that’s actually our advantage.

🧱 Starting with what we had

Back in 2016, I had already worked for a few local companies. But before that breakthrough moment, it was all about the hustle. Small gigs. Quick jobs. Everything that came my way: • Landing pages for local restaurants
• WordPress fixes for NGOs
• Converting PSD files to HTML for agencies
• Building contact forms that actually worked
• CSS animations for marketing campaigns
• Mobile-responsive layouts (when that was still "new")
The circle was small but tight. One project led to another. A restaurant owner knew someone who needed a website. Every job taught me something — about deadlines, client communication, or just how to make things work with limited resources. What I noticed during those early gig days?
Clients abroad were struggling to find small, fast, communicative teams — especially ones that understood product, not just code.
So I stopped chasing random freelance gigs and decided to build a team that felt like an extension of the client’s own crew. That’s still our goal today.

🌍 Growing through real relationships

We didn’t grow through ads.
We grew through referrals — from one Swedish agency to another, from one SaaS founder in the UK to their friend who needed help with MVP.
We focused on:
  • Shipping on time
  • Saying “no” when things didn’t make sense
  • Writing clean code and showing progress weekly
  • Being available when it actually mattered
That built trust — and the trust built our company.

📈 Nepal was never the limitation — it was the leverage

Here’s the thing: being in Nepal forced us to be better. We had to:
  • Be excellent at async communication
  • Deliver value without hand-holding
  • Work with limited resources and still make it happen
That mindset made us useful to companies in Europe.
We’re in a time zone that works. We speak clear English. We’re small enough to care, and experienced enough to deliver.

🛠️ Now, we help teams build — fast and lean

We’ve now built:
  • Booking platforms that sync with Google Calendar
  • AI-integrated UIs using OpenAI, LangChain
  • E-commerce stores, admin portals, MVPs — you name it
Our team works with React, Next.js, .NET, Supabase, Vercel, Tailwind, Prisma, Figma — whatever fits the product. We’re not an agency. We’re not freelancers.
We’re a long-term product partner — based in Nepal, building for the world.
